To do that, click the “Insert” tab and select “Shapes” from the “Illustrations” group. You can manually draw lines on the edges to finish the jigsaw. Select any piece you want to rotate and then turn the green, circular rotation handle that displays above the piece. To reorganize the jigsaw pieces, ungroup them by right-clicking and selecting “Grouping” and “Ungroup.” Then duplicate a puzzle piece and move it to its new location. Select a color from “Color” to change the line color and select the line’s thickness from “Weight.” Click “OK.” Go to the “Line” section to customize the outline for each puzzle piece. Select the “Colors and Lines” tab and go to the “Fill” section. Right-click on the selection and select “Format AutoShape” from the pop-up. Select “Grouping” and “Group” from the fly-out menu to group the pieces together. Hold down the “Shift” key as you select each set of puzzle pieces. Drag the pieces next to each other until they interlace. Select, copy (Ctrl+C) and paste (Ctrl+V) the clipart multiple times. To shrink the clipart, grab any of its corners and push in the resizer handle. Word adds the clipart to your page automatically once it’s selected. Select the puzzle clipart that looks like this: Type “puzzle” into the “Search for” box and click “Go.” Go to the “Clip Art” task pane that opens on the right. Click the “Insert” tab and select “Clip Art” from “Illustrations.” Choose the “Layout” tab in the Page Setup dialog box and change “Vertical alignment” to “Center.” Click “OK.” Adding the Puzzle Pieces To center the image vertically, click the Page Setup dialog box launcher under the “Page Layout” tab. Select the photo and press “Ctrl” and “E” to center it horizontally. Click and drag the resizer handle outward or inward to resize the image proportionately. To resize it, rest your mouse on any of its corners.
Click the “Insert” tab and select “Picture” from “Illustrations.” Find the photo you want to use as a background for your puzzle and double-click it within the Insert Picture dialog box. To change the orientation to landscape, go to the “Page Layout” tab and “Page Setup” group. Create a new document in Microsoft Word and choose a page orientation. When you’re done, simply print the jigsaw and cut out the pieces. You can even share photos of your fun memories by using them as a background!
Making a jigsaw allows you to customize it exactly the way you want for a brainteaser, game or party. Microsoft Word is mostly used to create office documents, but you can use it for school and craft projects too.
